Online Plateforms for Daily Wage Opportunities

Closing Date of Submission of EOI is 15th November 2019

Background

The 4th Industrial Revolution has changed the way we interact and with the advent of ‘sharing’ and ‘gig’ economy, it has provided more work opportunities to people. Similarly, the gig economy described as a free market system in which temporary positions are common and organizations contract with independent workers for short-term engagements for a particular job are becoming more common. They create job opportunities and provide a platform to earn an extra wage.
Pakistan is home to the third largest population of professionals related to the global crowd work gig industry after India and Bangladesh. Its market share is nearly 13 percent. On the other hand, while no clear numbers are available, there are tens of thousands of drivers and riders engaged with ride-sharing and delivery platforms.
An online daily wage platform is a platform that provides opportunities to skilled or semi-skilled workers to earn a wage. The platform can be accessed through the internet via any device that can connect to it.

Objectives

With the government’s mandate of providing jobs and creating livelihood, it is important that the country capitalizes on the human resource available. By some estimates Pakistan is the 4th fastest growing freelance market in the world, with the majority being under the age of 30. Opportunities need to be provided in country.
We are soliciting competitive bids from prospective organizations that already have an online platform, which will create further work opportunities, especially for women, as well as expertise to scale up such a platform with Ehsaas co-branding. The organization should also pitch a scale up plan.
The plan include the following:
1. Objective 1
a. Provide details on an existing platform that can provide the most jobs, especially to women (segment target)
2. Proposals for scaling
a. How scale will be achieved
b. Specific timelines and investment needed to scale the platform
